IR35 is the core casework
Contract reviews, SDS disputes and HMRC status enquiries are the routine work here, alongside contractor company accounting, not a sideline to year-end accounts.
Regulated and insured
The work is carried out within an ACCA-regulated practice holding professional indemnity insurance, with your accounts and correspondence in one place.
Current on the 2026 rules
We work with the rules as they stand from 6 April 2026: the new small-company thresholds and the umbrella joint and several liability regime.
Fixed written quotes
Every engagement starts with a fixed written quote within 48 hours of your enquiry. The price we quote is the price you pay, with no obligation to proceed.
IR35 stopped being someone else’s problem in April 2026
For five years most contractors could leave status to their end client. From 6 April 2026 the small-company thresholds rose to £15m turnover and £7.5m balance sheet, and roughly 14,000 engagers became small overnight. If your client is one of them, the status determination, and the liability that follows it, moved back to your company.
At the same time, the new joint and several liability rules made agencies and end clients answerable for unpaid PAYE wherever an umbrella company sits in the chain. Generalist accountants are catching up with both changes. We work on them every week: contract reviews, status disputes and the accounting that sits around them.

What changed on 6 April 2026
Two separate reforms took effect on the same day, and between them they redrew who carries off-payroll risk.
Small-company limits rose to £15m / £7.5m
Around 14,000 engagers reclassified as small. Their contractors take back the status determination and the liability under Chapter 8, the pre-2021 position.

HMRC can now recover an umbrella company’s unpaid PAYE from the agency, or the end client where there is no UK agency, regardless of fault.
